NRI Quota for MBBS Admission In Rajasthan is a major state for admissions in government medical colleges under the quota. There are a significant number of MBBS seats reserved for NRIs in Rajasthan’s government medical colleges.
Scope for NRI Students: NRI wards and NRI-sponsored category students with lower NEET scores have a good opportunity to secure an MBBS seat in government medical colleges under the NRI quota. Private Medical Colleges: There is no reservation for NRI candidates in private medical colleges in Rajasthan.
Eligibility Criteria for NRI Quota MBBS Admission:
Parent as NRI: At least one of the student’s parents should be an NRI and ordinarily residing abroad as an NRI.
First-Degree Relative Sponsor: The person who sponsors the student for admission should be a first-degree relative (i.e., real brother or real sister) and should be ordinarily residing abroad as an NRI.
Nearest Relative as Guardian:
If the student is taken as a ward by a nearest relative, such students may be considered for admission provided the guardian has bona fide treated the student as a ward.
The following nearest relatives (NRI), who should be ordinarily residing abroad as NRIs, can be considered:
Real Uncle and Aunt: Real brother and sister of the father.
Maternal Uncle and Aunt: Real brother and sister of the mother.
Grandparents: Father and mother of the father (paternal grandfather and grandmother), and father and mother of the mother (maternal grandfather and grandmother).
First Degree Cousins: Paternal and maternal cousins.
Counseling and Seat Allocation:
Conversion of Vacant NRI Seats:
According to state government directions, if NRI seats remain vacant due to a lack of sufficient NRI candidates during or after round 2 of offline counseling, these vacant seats will be converted to management/general seats as applicable.
Round 2 offline counseling for NRI seats will be conducted before exhausting the management seats of government society colleges.
Participation and Bond:
Candidates allotted NRI seats in round 2 counseling are not eligible to participate in round 2 counseling for other seats.
At the time of allotment, the candidate must submit a bond stating that if they do not join the allotted seat or leave the course before completion, they will be liable to pay the fee for the entire course prescribed for such an NRI seat.
